How to apply for an IPO in Nepal.
IPOs in Nepal are applied for online through Meroshare using ASBA — your money is blocked in your own bank, not paid out, until allotment. Here is exactly what you need and what to click.
What you need.
No Demat account yet? Start with how to buy shares in Nepal — it covers Demat, Meroshare and broker accounts.
Apply in Meroshare.
The whole application takes a few minutes once your accounts are set up.
Log in to Meroshare during the issue’s open window.
Open “My ASBA” and find the issue under the current applications.
Choose the company, then select your ASBA bank.
Enter the number of units (minimum is usually 10) and your CRN.
Enter your transaction PIN and submit the application.
After the allotment date, check the result in Meroshare or at iporesult.cdsc.com.np.
If allotted, the shares appear in your Demat — you can sell them after listing.
Blocked, allotted, listed.
When the issue closes, shares are allotted — for popular issues, usually by lottery among valid applicants. Allotted shares are credited to your Demat account and any unallotted amount is unblocked in your bank.
Once the company lists on NEPSE, its shares trade like any other through your broker. Here is how to check your IPO result.
Common ASBA banks
Straight answers.
How much money do I need to apply for an IPO in Nepal?
It depends on the issue. Many ordinary IPOs are priced at Rs. 100 per unit with a minimum of 10 units — about Rs. 1,000. Check each issue's price and minimum units. The money is blocked through ASBA, not spent, until allotment.
Can I apply for the same IPO more than once?
No. Only one application per issue is allowed for each Demat account (BOID). Duplicate applications for the same issue are rejected.
What is ASBA?
ASBA (Applications Supported by Blocked Amount) means your application money stays in your own bank account, blocked, until allotment. If you are allotted shares, only the allotted amount is taken; the rest is released.
What is a CRN number?
CRN (Customer Reference Number) is a code your ASBA bank gives you to authorise IPO applications through Meroshare. You enter it each time you apply.
Can I edit or cancel my IPO application?
Yes. While the issue is still open, you can edit or delete a submitted application in Meroshare under My ASBA. After the issue closes, it can no longer be changed.
